Children’s Court Update

Hearings in the Children’s Court have been suspended until after 1 May 2020. Care matter that are listed for mention for will be dealt with by the Court, with the expectation being that practitioners will liaise together in the attempt to negotiate a consent position. Where this is not possible, the Children’s Court is conducting matters by telephone. The Children’s Court has also recently introduced the Courtroom Meeting Space, which is a videoconferencing platform through which practitioners can appear before the Court. The Courtroom Meeting Space is not available to clients.
